We had a busy and fun day- first stop at the Cathedral Sq farmer's market downtown that we used to walk to every Saturday when Colin was a baby-- now he gets tasty cinnamon rolls and to play on the playground rather than being carried around in the baby bjorn- much more fun!
We got plenty of fresh veggies and something new to try ~ pea shoots ~ from a lovely organic stand. Colin even ate some of them raw so I knew that they were going to be tasty!
We made a pea shoot salad with almonds, lentils and couscous and it was delicious!
We went to Colin's friend Jake's 2nd birthday party and the kids had fun running around outside, using "squirters" (my new liking instead of the word water gun) and of course having birthday cake!
Colin got a batman toy when we stopped at Target (and these chalk paints in the pictures) but then lost part of it at our second farmer's market stop of the day in the afternoon. It was a lost cause to try to find the toy at the crowded market stalls so we might have stopped at a different Target on the way home to replace the R.I.P. first Batman... and maybe came home with the whole Batman cave this time (not by Colin's asking/whining-- just by me watching him have so much fun playing with it in the store WITHOUT asking if we could buy it that I thought he truly did 'need' it :) And he's already gotten hours of playing out of it!
