August 30, 2009 - Brewer's game!

We finally made it to the Brewer's game with great company - Melissa and Nick (for the second attempt :), Michelle, Ertan and Stephanie! It was a beautiful day and we were able to tailgate for a bit, watched the Brewer's win against the Pirates and had a great time at the ballpark!

August 29, 2009 - can't wait to see Kivrin

Colin and I get to visit Kivrin soon, who just had her first birthday this month! See all of her super cute shenanigans at www.kivrinanne.com :)

August 29, 2009 - zoo fun

We went to the zoo for a bat exhibit and Colin then got to frighten others with his bat mask!
It was a chilly afternoon so we spent some time in the amphibian houses checking out the iguanas, sharks and snakes!

August 29. 2009 - teddy bear story time at Central

We met Lauren, Brennie and Katie at Central Library for today's teddy bear story time, and afterwards the kids got to make teddy bear headbands and besides playing with the trains, lego table and books, Colin and Brendan put on a puppet show for us.

August 22, 2009 - grilling and camping out with friends

Our dear friend Stacey came in town to visit for the weekend and we had a get together to celebrate, with grilling out and then a campfire for the kids to roast marshmallows and make smores!
The kids had a picnic on a blanket!
Later that night, Melissa formed a band with Colin and Griffin... I think they may make it big!

August 18, 2009 - first attempt....

So... we went to Miller Park for the Brewer's game tonight with Melissa and Nick... except they may have been playing in Pittsburgh (Mama may be at fault for looking at the wrong home schedule date on this one)... so that put a damper on the baseball game plans. Colin was a good sport and instead we checked our Sobelman's and sat outside for MKE's best burgers! See Aug 29th post for the redo game (that was actually in MKE!)
Colin and Nick still cheering for the Brewer's!

August 15, 2009 - Summer Sizzler music in WFB and campfire!

Mama was going to attempt to mow the lawn after being in NY all week in the afternoon... but the mower apparently decided that it would rather break. So, instead-- we walked down to Silver Spring for the Bay's Summer Sizzler music street festival and hung out to listen to some live music for a while. Then we stopped into Sendik's for some groceries and took everything home in the wagon!
Colin watching the stage and performers while snacking on grapes, dancing when the music struck him to do so

The silly self portraits continued at the street festival... Colin asking to see the pictures after each shot and redo

And then we met a little creepy friend that blocked our path on the sidewalk on the way home... to me it looked like a cicada, ready for molting. That's Colin giving the bug his creepy face and then he wandered far enough to one side of the sidewalk that we could get the wagon through.
The biggest treat of the night-- a "campfire" in the backyard to roast marshmallows and make s'mores for dessert.

Let's just say that Mama fell asleep within a few minutes of Colin after all of our Saturday activities!

August 15, 2009 - market goodies

We love all the finds at the market, and after coming home and washing all the fruits and veggies, thought we would take a picture of our eats for the week and flowers that we will enjoy (Mama always gets the gladiolas and Colin picks out the sunflowers!)
There's basil, parsley, corn, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, tomatos, patty pan squash, cherries, pears and a pickle that a farmer stand gave to Colin! Whew, time to get cooking!
Then Mama was having fun with the color accent function on her camera... and then we just got into documenting a little bit of our silliness :)

August 15, 2009 - Art activity day at Central

Art activity day at the Central Library was created from the book Rainbow Fish, and after hearing the story, all of the kids made their own rainbow fish! It was super easy on the supply list and with a little parental help, a great kid art project!
Here's a link to Lauren's pictures of the morning too!

August 15, 2009 - Cathedral Square farmer's market

A fun start to our morning- meeting the Reas at the Cathedral Square Farmer's Market!
