February 22, 2009 - Sunday around the house fun

Someone is starting a theme of not wanting to nap on Sunday afternoons... so after an hour of (failed) attempt, we decided to make mini funfetti cupcakes instead!
Colin mixing the batter
We survived with only using 2 spoons (and the spoon licking came after we had filled all of the cupcake pans! :)
Colin did a sea craft project that Aunt Lissa had mailed to him and these are the pictures that he made!

February 21, 2009 - to the Milwaukee Public Museum we go!

Papa came for a visit this weekend and we went to the Milwaukee Public Museum because Colin wanted to see some dinosaur bones!  We saw a lot more than that!
Colin acting like a dino, complete with roars and showing his viscous teeth!
Melissa came with us too and here we are with our extinct friend the stegosaurus (Colin was a bit scared by the size and noises that went with the next one to pose with it so Melissa and I did it for him :)
I was a little frightened by this big "meat eater" as Colin calls the t-rex too!
Papa and Colin walking through the butterfly house with the creatures flying all around!
Mama and Colin watching the butterflies and some even flew around our heads!

February 15, 2009 - first folk concert fun

Colin had the fabulous experience of attending his first folk concert put on in a series at Hotch-A-Do on Sunday evening.  We went with some friends and had a wonderful time! We love Edie Carey, Teddy Goldstein and Andrew Kerr!

My favorite picture.. Colin had a little difficulty staying awake for the entire show because he refused his nap earlier in the day.  It was the first time I think he has fallen asleep in my arms since he was a baby and so cute!  He didn't flinch the entire time he was asleep (not that folk music is very roudy :) and completely denied that he fell asleep/missed any of the show the next day b/c he had such a good time!

February 15, 2009 - ice hockey training

Colin is infatuated with ice hockey right now so we thought we would test our ice skating skills so that Colin can learn if he wants to practice ice skating to become a ice hockey player!
We went to the outdoor rink at Red Arrow Park and overall it was a good time!

Ice Skating Rink at Red Arrow Park
Trying to capture the action from the ice... kind of hard b/c Colin wouldn't let my hand go!  A nice 10 year old girl was giving Colin his own skating lessons and encouragement which helped the experience!

Practicing before we headed out on the ice!

Colin agreed that ice skating was harder than he thought it would be but definitely wants to keep practicing so that he can get a hockey stick in his hand rather than holding onto the railing!

February 14, 2009 - kitties playing

Our new cats love playing with Colin's toys as much as he does (or napping on them :)

February 14, 2009 - trip to the domes

Colin and Mommy had a fun filled Valentine's Day! We met Melissa for lunch and then off to the Domes to check out the lego/train dome exhibit and some tropical atmosphere so we could ignore the new snowfall we received overnight!

In the seasonal dome, exhibiting the legos and trains!
Colin is mesmerized by the trains!

February 8, 2009 - Admirals game!

We went to an Admirals hockey game this afternoon with our friends Griffin and Chad!  The boys had a blast and I think they both ate their weight in popcorn! Colin has picked up a little too well on the rough hockey cheering but at least he's cheering against the "bad guys"!

February 7, 2009 - reflection

Colin was hamming it up for himself in the mirror showing different emotions that they have been learning about at school!
Can you pick out happy, shocked and scared?

January 31, 2009 - new additions!

It was time for some family expansion... so Colin and I adopted 2 kitties from the humane society.  Meet Marc Jacobs and Mark Zack!
Colin helps welcome the kitties to their new home !
