May 14, 2009 - first trip to the dentist

Colin took his first trip to the dentist to have his teeth cleaned and checked out and he had a great time.  He loved getting his teeth cleaned and especially when he got a new 'Cars' toothbrush and some sparkle toothpaste to take home!

May 13, 2009 - guitar rock star

I may have had a little fun at the Land of Nod store when I went down to Chicago for work and found this great kids guitar for Colin to embark on his rock star career at an early age.

He loves it... and now Mama just needs to get a few guitar lessons so that I can help teach him how to play!

Colin had me try out the guitar and wanted to take my picture playing too :)

Here's his first original song....This was his first attempt playing... and creating his own song which involved singing about something going down the drain (maybe we had just finished washing dishes? :)  Regardless, I am sure that we will have many originals that will be #1 on your ITunes playlist shortly!

May 10, 2009 - Silly Sunday

Colin made this lion for his Mama for Mother's Day and we spent the day doing some gardening, lunch with our friend Danielle, and then off to the Children's First Stage Theater for 'How I Became a Pirate', a pirate adventure brought to life from the illustrator David Shannon's fabulous book!

May 9, 2009 - gardening!

Colin was a great helper today on our trip to buy our landscaping materials and then to help plant our annuals, do some weeding and mulch the flower beds! We're not quite finished but we got a lot accomplished today (even with some raindrops falling while planting!)
We played with a few worms... and then Colin got distracted while watching the big kids next door play football in the front so he took a break to cheer and growl at them for a bit!

May 9, 2009 - making (and eating!) birds nest

Colin helped Mama make a new weekend breakfast treat - birds nests! They were tasty too!

May 8, 2009 - snack in the park

Colin really likes to wear his shades pretty much anytime we are heading outdoors... we stopped and got a bagel snack and to play in Cathedral Square Park before meeting Melissa for a tasty dinner at Cubanita's and Colin was being quite the ham for Mama taking these pictures

May 5, 2009 - weeknight picnic

It was a lovely evening so Colin and I decided to stop at the park for a picnic dinner and to play on the way home. Colin's idea for the picnic was to get mac n' cheese, so that's exactly what we did! :)  The most interesting time for Colin was watching the yoga class that was in session in the field (thanks Marissa :) Then off for some sandbox and slide playing fun!

May 3, 2009- puzzlemania!

Colin LOVES puzzles, and wanted to do this one that he got from Grandma Mary tonight before bedtime, which was pushing it since it was about 7:30 and this is a 170 piece puzzle meant for ages 5+.  But, we started it and got it complete before bedtime!  It has a lot of smaller pictures within the larger picture so I helped Colin get the pictures grouped together and he put the entire puzzle together.  Amazing to watch a small child's mind at work :)

April 26, 2009 - my sweet boy

with my favorite 3 year old quote right now, as Colin starts a conversation with 'How's going on, Mama?'  as he doesn't have the phrase 'What's going on' down quite yet :)

April 26, 2009- fun times with the Meisterheims!

It was a Meisterheim weekend! First, it worked out that Chad was visiting a friend in NY for the first time while I was in the city for market so I was able to help show him around the city a bit (with our major touristy pose in Times Sq below to commemorate :)

And then while Chad stayed and enjoyed the city over the weekend, Amy and I got together with the kids back home which was so much fun.

Cayenne, Griffin and Colin lounged while watching part of a movie (it was sadly a rainy and cold weekend back in MKE but Amy had lots of fun indoor activities to keep the kids entertained!)  Then, the kids made homemade pizzas for lunch and after some playing, made and decorated sugar cookies using dinosaur cookie cutters which was a big hit for everyone! Thanks Meisterheims for a great time!

April 24, 2009 - dance party with Melissa

I had a late flight back from New York on Friday so Melissa helped out by picking up Colin from school until I arrived. They had a blast with a picnic in the park, playing and then we all hung out at Melissa's for the evening.  Colin and Melissa had a dance party, here's both of them doing their best robot dance :)

April 18, 2009 - future futbol player

Colin loves his new soccer goals and even more so now that it's actually getting warm enough to use them outside! Here's he and Papa trying out the goal and his skills!

April 16, 2009 - afternoon with the Rea's

We enjoyed an afternoon of our Spring Break at the Rea's and then headed off to the zoo! It was great to be in warmer weather and a great time with our friends!

Colin loves the carousel at the zoo and got to ride on the dragon today!

April 15, 2009 - fun afternoon with Cole and Siena

Colin had his friends Cole and Siena over since we were on vacation this week and the kids played in the bouncy house and since Papa was visiting, he helped them make slime and glue goo which was the biggest hit of the afternoon!

April 14, 2009- Go Brewers!

We went to our first Brewer's game of the season during our week off and had a great time!

Colin and Mama enjoying the game / Colin and Papa singing 'take me out to the ballgame'!

Colin got to hang out with a true Brewers fan during the game and Marissa taught him how to give bumps when the Brewers made a good play!

April 11, 2009 - Easter egg hunt

Colin spent Easter weekend with his Dad and had a great time playing with his cousin Lizzy over the weekend! We had a belated Easter Egg hunt at our house on Monday (although it was so cold that it was a super fast hunt... )  Colin even saw the Easter Bunny sneak out after hiding the eggs in the last picture (look in the upper left corner :)
