May 27-28 - Road trip to East Peoria!

Colin and Mama took a road trip to East Peoria over Memorial Day weekend to visit some of Mama's friends from college and their families! It was a BLAST and Colin had so much fun staying with Lane and Lillian and meeting his new pal, 2 month old baby Pierce!

May 20, 2007- Outside play

...and this doesn't even come close to everything Colin played with this afternoon! Let's just say that he is thoroughly enjoying his new yard/neighborhood!

We went for three separate walks and Colin especially loves the new sand/water table Mama got for him! Now it just needs to get (and stay) warm enough for us to enjoy the yard all day!!!

Okay, so it was really warm on Saturday and we had a great play date with Colin's friends Cole and Siena but Mama forgot the camera :)

May 20, 2007 - Rec Room fun!

Although it's not quite up to Mama's standards for being "finished" (just one more order from Land of Nod to complete this room :), the rec room is much more Colin friendly now that all of the boxes are gone!

With the cold end of May (?) weather on Sunday, we had to spend most of the morning inside before it warmed up enough to play outside! Colin loved all of the space he has to run around and play in his new rec room!

May 13, 2007 - Waving to the bunny

We have some bunnies that play in our backyard and Colin loves to wave to them from the dining room window or actually from outside (although the bunnies don't hang around for long if Colin is approaching!) So cute!

May 13, 2007 - Happy Mother's Day!

from Colin! He got me these beautiful flowers (with a little help from Craig) and loves to smell them with me. What a wonderful baby!

May 11, 2007 - Ah, homeownership...

The ups, the downs :)

On Friday night, I found the rec room carpeting flooded with water from the main water pipe left open mistakenly by a plumber that had to be called for a separate issue on Thursday morning... (needless to say, the plumbing company had the problem taken care of since it was their plumber's fault).

Here's the damage (now fixed and at least it got me to organize the many boxes that were still waiting to be unpacked in the rec room!)

Check out the backyard after a first pass at mowing the grass with my new push lawnmower (Colin was sad to see the backyard jungle go!)

And finally, the front yard with the blooming pear (?) tree! We (mostly Papa Staley but I helped too) got the landscaping into shape and the backyard looks much better too!

May 10, 2007 - Grandpa's Handyman Helper

Here's Colin and Grandpa reading a story, one of many that they read together over the past week! Grandpa was up helping get the house in order (and Colin made sure he had the shirt to show he was ready to be put to work :)
