March 22, 2007 - Retiring...

It's offical. Colin is a toddler. We weened off of the bottle this week and by mid-week Colin was taking milk solely out of sippy cups. I retired the bottles (the monumental moment captured on film for the Mama more so than for Colin before I boxed up the bottles - my baby's not a baby anymore if he doesn't drink out of a bottle, sniff sniff!!!)

Colin's also putting himself to sleep at night without a peep and sleeping through the whole night (ahhhhhhhhh, big sigh of relief from the Mama :). He is so cute- we read a story, usually one with lots of animals that Colin will point to one by one while I ask him what the animal is and "we" make the appropriate animal noises (*we being me and then Colin usually makes the same growling noise for all the animals!) and then I carry him into his room, give him his blankey and tell him goodnight, ask for a kiss which he returns in super slopping Colin fashion and lay him down. He snuggles his blankey and goes right to sleep. I was so in awe of what a big boy he has become that the other night I stood there watching him for an extra few seconds and he actually rolled over and looked at me as if to say "hello, I'm trying to sleep here, will you stop starting at me?" so I quickly walked out and he went right to sleep. :)

March 20, 2007 - Sit, Stand, Repeat

Colin loves to sit in his rocking chair and will sit down, then stand up, then sit again, then stand up, then sit... and well, you get the picture :)

March 18, 2007 - Excited!

Colin is so excited in this picture... we were playing the 'Mama's gonna tickle you' game and Colin was running away and then waiting for me to catch him and breaking out into shreaks and laughter. So cute!

March 18, 2007 - Colin and Cole

The boys get together for a morning of play! Colin hadn't seen his friend Cole since the Fall and both boys have grown so much since then! It was fun for the tots (as well as Mommies :) and with the sun out, it was warm enough for us to take a walk down to Starbucks too!

March 17, 2007 - Outside play

...on a chilly but sunny afternoon!

After a three hour nap today (for both of us :), we went outside in the courtyard for Colin to run around a little bit since we are both getting Spring fever! Colin's getting very quick in his walking and starting to run...

here he is getting close... then closer... and closest-- all in just a few seconds!

March 13, 2007 - Enjoying the weather!

...for a day at least!! Colin got to play soccer outside at day care today and then we went for a long walk after dinner, joined by Melissa and David! Colin enjoyed the walk down Brady Street the best -- all of the neighborhood was out and about sitting on patios like it is summer time and lots of people walking their dogs with Colin saying "oof, oof" as he passed by!

March 13, 2007 - Now you see it...

...and now you don't!

Needless to say, Colin has quite the healthy appetite these days... this dinner of asparagus, carrots and tempeh was followed by some bites of vegetarian chili, cheese and crackers AND pieces of avacado for dessert! I don't even want to think about how stocked the fridge will have to be once Colin gets to be a teenager!!

March 10, 2007 - Jordan's 1st Birthday!

Colin's friend Jordan turned 1 year old today and Colin and Mama were invited to her party! Everyone had a great time! CLICK HERE for more pictures of the party!
