December 16, 2006 - Visit from Uncle George!!!

Colin had a blast during his visit from Uncle George (and Mama did as well :)

George got his fill of stroller pushing in the mall and helped Mama survive the lines to see Santa!

December 12, 2006 - Day of "Firsts"

... including Colin's first 3 steps at day care ... and his first head rugburn from a tumble (these 2 incidents were actually unrelated but both signs of things to come!!!) Here's a pic of the injury ...and Colin trying to do his best "Risky Business" pose :)

December 5, 2006- Colin in his winter coat

We're into the depths of winter in Wisconsin so it's time to bundle up! Here's Colin in his first winter coat (a little big b/c the first one Mama bought ended up being too small...) and of course Colin breaks it in by chewing on it!!

December 2, 2006 - Christmas Tree

Colin reaches for his first ornament on a Christmas Tree... good thing that Mama is holding out for a big Christmas tree until next year! (We'll let him try to pull all the ornaments off of Grandpa's first this year :)

December 2, 2006 - In the snow!

Colin sees snow for the first time (that he wasn't being carried in an infant carrier) and doesn't know what to make of all this white stuff! Here's Colin and Mommy in Cathedral Square Park amongst the decorated trees covered with lots of snow (the day after Colin's first Wisconsin blizzard)!

December 1, 2006 - Morning fun in the Pack n' Play

November 25, 2006 - Apples

After pulling these apples out of the refrigerator, Colin decides that they are not only fun to play with but that he'd also like to try his first bite (didn't get past the skin but amused him for quite some time)!

Babies are supposed to learn by experience, right??

During this meal,
Colin learned how spinach felt...
in between his fingers,
allover his hair,
behind his ear,
rubbed into his sweater
and of course,
all over the high chair!

and he did actually taste some too

SO MUCH FUN!

Colin loved playing here - and will love it even more as he gets older! We spent the day with Melissa, Michelle and their cousin Zora who is 2 years old (and Colin loved playing with Zora too!)

November 18, 2006 - Standing on his own...

We're in trouble! (They said he took his first unassisted step at day care on Friday but I have yet to see one!) But Colin is definitely standing alone a lot more-- in these pics, he went for his toy and then was shaking it- all while keeping his balance standing alone... now that's what I call baby talent :)

November 12, 2006 - Laundry Cart Racing

Okay, just kidding... but Colin did love his ride on the laundry cart up to the apartment from the laundry room this morning (hey, the laundry was FINISHED by 7:45 am... it was an early morning and Mama was tired!)

November 12, 2006 - Hungry Man Breakfast

Wowzers, can you believe the size of this boy's breakfast? Now you can understand the size of his belly :) Colin ate most of this plate along with some cereal with fruit cubes (the plate is scrambled egg yolk, whole wheat waffle, fresh blueberries and raspberries). Tasty!

November 11, 2006 - New friend in the mirror

Colin's made a new friend-- the baby in the mirror!

He talks and sings to him, waves hi and also gives him big smiles and kisses!

Colin gets some last minute playing in with Grandpa before he has to drive home. Look at that smile!

Grandpa helps hang a picture collage of Colin in the hallway and then Mama and Colin check it out- looks great (and what a cute baby, says Colin!)

November 10, 2006 - Reading is fun!

Colin and Mommy stop during playtime to read "There's a Wocket in My Pocket" - Colin is really starting to enjoy reading books. He is pointing to pictures, giving kisses to (or trying to eat) the characters and turning the pages.

November 5, 2006 - Naptime in Mama's bed

...so I will admit that both Colin and Mama were taking a little snooze before this picture was taken :) Colin has taken to sleeping in some odd positions, this one being his favorite. As long as he's comfortable, right?

October 31, 2006 - Baby Behind

Getting ready for bathtime!!! ...

...and more bath adventures- Colin now likes to stand up for about half of his bath which makes it much more challenging for Mama! He also loves to try to catch the falling water (and hasn't quite figured out why he can't just grab it!)

October 31, 2006 - Baby's 1st Boo

Colin's outfit for his first true Halloween (no costumes at day care so we improvised with his 1st halloween bib and booties!) Also Colin loved his plush pumpkin and dressed up bear from Craig's family!

October 29, 2006 - Road Snack

On the way to Colin's Halloween party (hence the pumpkin feet), we stopped at Target and Colin has a bottle for a mid afternoon snack in the parking lot before we get back on the road (and Mama has a Chai Latte from Starbucks... yum :)

October 26, 2006 - Eating while sleeping

Colin fell asleep in the highchair for the first time - while trying to eat a cracker (someone decided he didn't need an afternoon nap at daycare). Here's the sleepy boy before Mama got him to bed!

Colin has a new red car. He may not be walking yet, but he sure can drive. Beep, Beep!

Colin takes his first trip to the pumpkin patch- so much to take in!

October 20, 2006 - Rocking Horse

This is another good find at Grandpa's house- Mommy's old rocking horse from when she was a little girl (made by Colin's Great Uncle Jim). With a little help rocking, Colin holds on tight and likes it!

October 20, 2006 - Backyard Exploration

After a walk through the neighborhood, Colin explores Grandpa's backyard and plays with some leaves and flowers. He likes to take in his surroundings and gets really quiet in such a big outdoor world.
